What is Social Web?

Social web encompasses a set of social relations, which create the link between people and World Wide Web. Social interaction is the keyword for social web, run on a few websites and software programs.

The social interactions can range from online shopping, gaming, education to blogging, wikis, crowd sourcing, and social networking on Twitter, Facebook etc. Social web largely works as a counterpart of web 2.0 technologies. It is a two-way communication channel. It facilitates interactions between like-minded people, having similar interests and tastes.
